With a fleet of chilled, frozen and ambient transit style vans, Paul Cook Temperature Controlled Distribution specialises in both regular deliveries and emergency problem solving distribution for manufacturing plants, RDC's and the end user. Based 5 minutes from Junction 17 of the M5 in Bristol, we are able to offer both a UK and European distribution solution at short notice. Osgrow In 1996 Paul established St. Swithins Ostrich
Meat to meet the rapidly growing demand for quality Ostrich Meat. Osgrow was formed in 1999 with the
acquisition of the assets and clients from Osgrow Ltd by St. Swithins
Ostrich Meat, both of which specialised in Ostrich products. Since then
Osgrow 's range has rapidly expanded to over 22 different meat categories
whilst still supplying one of the largest selections of Ostrich Products
in the country. In February 2003 we increased our product list to include
Leather Goods, Feathers & Eggs. All the game is reared in its natural environment with minimal human contact. This ensures the animals well-being and of course a high standard of health is maintained. Selection of the meat takes place at night by trained hunters. The animals are always shot in the head to ensure direct bleeding takes place, this and minimal stress are vital to the production of the high quality product sourced for the table. Processing of the carcass follows strictly the European Hygiene Regulations which include the precise management of working and storage temperatures throughout, thus eliminating the risk of bacterial contamination. Those meats that are farmed, including Ostrich, Crocodile, Snails and Locusts come only from establishments that follow strictly the European hygiene and welfare guidelines. Osgrow shows how well the partnership between conservation and exotic meat production works, ensuring the successful continuation and survival of many species that would easily be starved out of existence by other animals taking over if their numbers were not controlled under strict regulation. 2001 saw the relocation of our cutting plant to a purpose built facility with a larger capacity.
